Eminem released a music video for the album's first single, “Not Afraid”, on November 19, 2010, which was directed by Anthony Mandler. The video premiered via YouTube and Vevo.[74] Pitchfork Media gave the song a favorable review, stating that “Eminem is a master of pitching his own wretchedness to our own.”[75] The song peaked at number two on the Hot 100, and also on the Canadian Hot 100, the UK Singles Chart, and the Australian ARIA Charts.[76] “Not Afraid” debuted at number one on the US Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart and at number two on the Hot 100.[77] The song was nominated for two 2010 Grammy Awards, “Best Rap Song” and “Best Rap Album”.[78]
The album was supported by the promotional tour for “Not Afraid”;.
