Gold is the currency of the faerie village. It can be converted into goods and services by residents, with the winning combination being: either 1x Gold for every good, or 1x good for every 1x Gold. In the game, you only have to make money off of "Starter Pack" faeries via the copy shop. Thus, you should consider from the very beginning which goods and services you prefer to make from the player faeria, especially those which are not needed for settlement. For instance, I don't like to have faeries work for me all the time. However, having faeries work for me at all adds to the self-sustainability of the village.
There are several things the player may do for entertainment while located at the faerie village. A number of fathoms are available along the ocean, which give the player the chance to try his or her luck at fishing. Fishing is actually a fairly simple game of chance. You worm into position by walking around on the floor, waiting for any blue fish to swim up and eat the worm, then quickly catching them.
There are three types of fathoms: the Dark, the Light, and the Cross. The Dark is hidden unless a player opens a hidden passage with a doll. There are nine dark fathoms on each island. A quick visual inspection of a fathom will tell you any monsters that live in it. Opening the fathom opens the hidden passage. Once the passage is opened, monsters cannot enter, and the fathom is lost. The Light is widely available if there is a crossroad in an adjacent building. The Light is open once per day, and all fathoms are equally Light unless the crossroad has another building next to it. Fathoms are not automatically activated, so you must travel to them. d2c66b5586
